Women’s Health & Fitness Day is the nation’s largest annual health promotion for women of all ages. The goal is to encourage women to take control of their health: to learn the facts they need to make smart health choices, and to make time for regular physical activity.
Sisterhued Co-Founder, Shaniqua is the leader of our pack when it comes to having a regular fitness routine. Her Instagram page is filled with ways that show us how we all can live a healthier lifestyle.
Here are the top ways to help you live a healthier lifestyle:
Drink plenty of water. By increasing your water intake you can maintain the balance of your body fluids, lessen you calorie intake, and will keep your skin healthy andradiant. And if plain water gets too boring for you, spruce it up by infusing fresh fruit.

Eat right. By eating right you will get the right balance of vitamins, minerals and nutrients your body needs to help you feel your best and to give you plenty of energy. It will also allow you to control and even prevent heart disease, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes and some types of cancer.
Stay Fit. There are many ways that you can stay fit. You can choose to take a local fitness class, and with endless options you can choose from spinning, yoga or choreographed dance classes like, Brukwine. Or if you want to save the money, you can go the traditional route and just take a hike around your neighborhood.

Get lots of rest. Getting a sufficient amount of sleep means that not only will you be will rested, but you’ll be able to think clearly, be in a better mood and you’ll be able to maintain you healthy lifestyle. How? Because you’ll have the energy to prep a healthy meal, instead of fast food or go for that run instead of vegging out in front of the television.
Be stress free. By not letting the little things or the things you cannot control weigh you down you are in fact keeping yourself healthy. When stressed out you open yourself to things like migraines, chest pains, insomnia and becoming unpleasant to others. And those are on the lighter side of the scope. On the opposite end, stress can effect your weight and mental health, and even cause early death.
These are just some of the ways you can start living a healthy lifestyle and if you’re already living one this can help reinforce the basics and help you maintain it.
